It's been a while

Happy 2024! It's been awhile since I've written a Blog and this one is about my birthday.

My mom held her contractions on July 4th because her doctor was not available and she went to a barbecue. The next morning I popped out and my dad caught me. It's a longer story than that but I like it this way. I celebrate my birthday for the whole month and I start that by usually creating a painting. This year I am going to create an art show. 50/50 will be held on July 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Gather on Locust Street in Walnut Creek. I am currently trying to decide which of my 50 paintings to bring. Since I've last written, 3 years ago at least.. I have created more than 150 pieces and it's kind of a tough decision but I am planning on going with a lot of my newest pieces from this year. Everything this year has been inspired either by my heritage, Country Flowers, my family and the photo captures by my friend Linda True a great San Francisco artist.

Another dilemma I'm having, at Chino has a woman as a daily challenge sometimes is what to wear! I have started a new clothing line on Le Gaaleriste.com https://www.legaleriste.com/irene.bee.kain.artists. visit my store Here

Good Riddance to 2020!

Happy New Year!

With 2020 firmly in the past I am excited to announce that 2021 will be bigger and better for the art world in general. Yes there are challenges with our events going virtual...ie I have to figure out videoing lighting still :) and of course I miss seeing all of you at our gallery receptions and in person Open Studios but these challenges just make me work harder to bring you my view of the world. Whimsical, happy and uplifting, all components we need to navigate life and especially these difficult times.

Hop over to my website and checkout the Events page for the latest in Venues showing my work. The Art of the African Diaspora event starts in 10 days and will run for several months with multi venues in person and online. The San Francisco Women Artist Gallery has several wonderful shows I will be participating in, including online Gallery tours and The Oakland Art Library has my work for "Check Out" or purchase. More events and shows will be scheduled for the year so check back frequently.

May your Year be good to you and may art find its way into your life.

Happy 2021

May Flowers

May 1st is here and I'm sure we all are ready to be free to do what we please. Visit our friends, enjoy a fantastic restaurant or just enjoy browsing a gallery or museum. Unfortunately since our Stay at Home has been extended yet again, perhaps really taking a look at your space and finding the items that make you happy and dusting them off. Really bringing to the forefront your happy place.

For me being able to create Art at this time is where I find happiness, my walls are covered with various collections in process. Photos of Berkeley at night, Flowers in Golden Gate Park, Paintings of Canada's Great Bella Coola, each one has it's own happy spirit. My Art makes me smile, reminds me of a great memory and just in general brings my spirit up, this is what i hope does for my collectors.

So dust off your photos, rearrange your art Wall and make a happy place for your eyes to rest during the day. If you need inspiration, take a look at my website for uplifting ideas and feel free to tell me which are your favorite pieces.
